I've just gotten off the phone with Frieda.  She will be available to come to a Guild Meeting and do pre-Faire costume approvals and help with any questions, fabric swatches, etc.

The meeting will be Saturday March 1st 10:00am at Francesca's & Tom Green's again.

With Kara & Frieda in the same place at the same time, will make sure everyone is on the same page.

As with the regular costume approval; wear everything that you'll be wearing at Faire.  Shoes, hats, belts, mugs, pouches, belt knives, baskets, etc.

This is for all of you who already have your costumes & won't be changing them.  Anyone who's making a new costume will have to go thru the approval process during workshops.  That day & time will be announced later.

By having another Guild meeting before Faire, whatever new info I have I'll be able to pass on & Households will be able to get together and send some quality time.

Last Saturdays turn out was great and the food wonderful.  Bringing some tasty tidbits to the next meeting would be most welcome.

More as it comes in,
Donna

s many of you may already now, Gay Linn has stepped down as Queen.  Her hubby got a great job in Georgia, which is where he's from.  they'll most likely be moving there sometime in January.  REC will be auditions for a new Queen along with the Lord Mayor.  I sent out a email I received from REC regarding auditions.  It looks like they are looking for damn near all new theme characters. Now's your change if you've ever wanted to do this.  The announcement is posted on the REC website as well.

With Johnny Breen stepping down as Lord Mayor to spend more time with the Boggards, he's also not going to be teaching his workshop on "Elizabethans Know That".  I've been asked to do it.  Johnny gave us (St. Ives) what I thought was a wonderful complement.  We are one of the last die hard re-enactors AND we do the research.  So of course REC would pick on somebody like us to teach the history workshop.  That's when I said ok, I'd do it.

12th Night is coming up at Josh & Mikee's.  A great time was had by all who've been able to go in years past.  They also boast a spectacular view of the ocean outside their front door.  Please make an effort to come.  It's a great time to get together and just socialize.  Oh, and Mikee save your receipts!

Pam's fabulous idea about being in the Do-Dah Parade Jan. 20th is a wonderfully demented!  All who can, should do it!  I love the theme about being in debt.  Survivors of the Shopocalypse.  This is just too good to pass up.

I'm trying to set up a one on one get together with the new Entertainment Director before we have a Guild meeting.  I'm hoping to get more answers to things before we meet, rather than after.

The Renaissance Symposium is coming up in Feb.  This is a great get together for event producers, vendors, guilds etc. to get together & exchanged ideas, info, get some new classes under your belt.  I highly recommend it for anyone who has the time to go.

Remember Dues are due by March 30th.  Just a reminder, membership in St. Ives does not guarantee a participate pass for Southern Faire.
